Exterior

The TSUNAGU Building is a traditional thatched-roof farmhouse that originally stood in another village within the Tsurugaoka area.
Because traditional farmhouse structures use no nails or other fasteners, all the timber—including pillars and beams—can be completely disassembled and reassembled.

The TSUNAGU Building was reconstructed to connect the culture, history, and way of life of the rural people from this destrict—a convergence of ancient wisdom—and to connect the old building to the present and future.

Currently, only the thatched roof structure remains, replaced with a tin roof, but we hope to restore the thatched roof in the future.

While preserving the original pillars, beams, and antique fixtures, the house is fully equipped with heating and cooling systems like underfloor heating for your comfort.

From the living room, you can gaze out at the expansive Japanese garden with the hills behind it as a backdrop.
